Current Position: Paul is a Lawyer and Company Director.
Work Experience
Paul was admitted as a Lawyer in 1966 and worked mainly in litigation and commercial law with an emphasis on the mining and infrastructure industries. He has extensive contacts in those industries, including the five major companies involved in contract mining in Australia. In 1978 he became First Chief Minister and Attorney General of the Northern Territory and remained active in Northern Territory politics until 1987, the last 3 years in the Australian House of Representatives.
Since then Paul has concentrated on the law and business in South East Queensland. He has formed a practice specialising in business law, mediation, commercial litigation and planning and environment law.

Susan Lewis
Qualifications

Summary
Susan joined the firm in September 2004, with a number of years experience in personal injuries litigation.
Susan was admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland on 16 July 2001, after having completed 2 years of articles at one of Queensland’s largest personal injury law firms.
Susan has continued to focus her interests in the area of personal injury litigation and practices exclusively in the area. Susan has extensive experience in the area, including;
- motor vehicle accident claims
- public liability claims
- criminal compensation claims
- workers compensation claims
Susan also has experience in class actions, having been responsible for the claim of some 300 breast implant recipients involved in an international class action against the manufacturer of some implants, and having been involved in the claims for surviving victims of the Childers Backpackers Hostel tragedy.
Susan is committed to providing excellence in legal services to those who suffer injury or loss through the fault of others.
Melissa Singleton

Summary
Melissa was admitted on 26 May 2006 and commenced her career in personal injuries litigation including motor vehicle accident claim, workers compensation claims and public liability claims.
Melissa has gained additional experience in a number of other areas of law including commercial litigation, commercial property, intellectual property litigation and trade practices and consumer litigation.
Melissa joined the team to focus solely on personal injury litigation and to protect the rights of her client's and to assist in obtaining compensation for their losses and injuries.
Julia Wallace
Family Law
Julia joined Everingham Lawyers in 1998 having previously worked in the banking industry. Julia has progressed through the conveyancing department to the position of Manager of Commercial Property to Manager of Family Law and last year was admitted as a Solicitor after many years of study.
Julia has experience in many areas of law, including:
- real property including corporate and commercial agreements
- leasing and “developer” contracts
- wills and estate planning
- assisting with the establishment of corporate structures.
More recently, Julia has determined that her career path is in the area of Family Law including matters including:
- Property settlements
- Mediating Family disputes
- Divorce
- Pre Nuptial Agreements
- Custody issues
Michelle Davies
Conveyancing
Michelle has been in the legal industry for over twenty years and has specialised in conveyancing for more than ten years. Michelle manages the conveyancing department which deals with the purchase and selling of properties throughout Queensland.
Deon Wylie
Accounts
Deon is the Accounts Manager and has been with Everingham Lawyers since 2002. She has extensive experience in all areas of the firm as has undertaken many roles including Secretary to the Partner, Susan Lewis and brings with her not only years of experience but a high attention to detail and the ability to get the job done.
Deon has recently completed her Diploma of Accounting, Diploma of Business and Diploma of Management and is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Accounting with Australian Catholic University. Deon is a valuable asset to the Everingham Lawyers team.
Rebecca Slade
Accounts
Rebecca shares the responsiblities with Deon Wylie in Accounts. Rebecca has been with the firm since November 2009 and has moved through the firm from Administration Assistant into Accounts. Rebecca is hardworking and friendly and does what it takes to get the job done but always with a smile on her face. Rebecca is an asset to the Everingham Lawyers team and is currently studying to complete her Bachelor of Accounting.
All our Professional staff are aided by a team of experienced and hardworking support team including Paralegals, Secretaries and Administration Assistants. With a total staff of thirty in our four departments.
